MultiFormat is a free utility which helps to format large amounts of floppy disks. The format algorithm itself is not changed, so the time to format one disk is not considerably shortened, but the fact that you needn't to click on the numerous "Are you really sure...?" requesters presented by the Finder can give you the speed edge you need, when formatting lots of disks.
Normally, when the "Format all disks" checkbox is unchecked, every inserted disk that is not yet in MAC format will be formatted, veryfied and named and then ejected, so the next one can be put in.
By checking the "Format all disks" checkbox you can force allready formatted disks to be reformated (deleting ALL (!) data on them) without any warning.
To get a warning in case you put in an allready formatted disk, check the "Warning before reformatting" checkbox. Note that this checkbox is only available if you checked the "Format all disks" checkbox.
You can change the name given to formatted disks (which by default is set to "Empty") by clicking on the "Name:" button and entering the new name in the upcomming requester.
This is only a beta version. This meansthat the utility has been tested, but is (probably) still not bug-free. If you discover a bug, want me to include a new feature, or just want to blame me for this hack, please feel free to write me a mail. Bug reports would be especially nice, since I have only a limited number of different MAC-types available.
